Our Mission & Why You Can Trust Us
GetUserReviews was built on a simple, non‑negotiable principle: financial reviews should be based on real testing, not marketing claims.
Our research team invests its own capital to open real accounts, document real fees, and publish real results. We do not accept free products, we do not sell ratings, and we do not let advertisers influence our conclusions.
Every article you read on this site is the product of a rigorous, team‑driven process designed to give you the most honest and actionable information possible – whether you are researching a gold IRA company, a precious metals dealer, or a retirement platform.
How Our Research Team Works
Our reviews are the collective work of our research collective, led by Lead Researcher Paresh Yelekar and Compliance Lead Arkabrata Majumdar. Paresh executes the hands‑on experiments, Arkabrata verifies every data point, and an editor ensures clarity and fairness. This means an entire team stands behind what you are reading – not a single individual.

No Single Person Controls a Rating
No single team member – no matter how senior – can dictate a rating. Every score we publish is the output of a standardized methodology, peer‑reviewed internally, and locked before any affiliate discussion takes place.
Fact‑Checking: How We Ensure Accuracy
Independent Verification
Every review, case study, and experiment passes through at least two layers of verification:
| Step | Responsible | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lead Researcher | Compiles raw data – call logs, account statements, fee receipts, timelines |
| 2 | Senior Fact‑Checker | Independently reviews all facts against primary source documents |
| 3 | Editor | Ensures clarity, fairness, and compliance with this policy |
We do not publish claims based on company marketing materials alone. Wherever possible, we cite verifiable public records (SEC filings, CFTC data, BBB reports, court documents). If a fact cannot be independently confirmed, we clearly state that in the review.
Our Promise to You
If we make a mistake, we will fix it – fast – and we will tell you we fixed it. See our corrections policy below.
Corrections Policy
We take accuracy seriously. If you believe any information on our site is incorrect or outdated:
- Contact us at corrections@getuserreviews.com with the specific URL and evidence.
- Our fact‑checking team will investigate within 2 business days.
- If an error is confirmed, we will:
- Correct the page immediately
- Add an “Editor’s Note” at the bottom of the article explaining what was changed and when
Minor typos or formatting fixes are corrected silently.
Material changes that affect a review’s conclusion will always carry a public note.
Update Frequency Commitment
We review all core content (reviews, case studies, portfolio pages, and this editorial policy) at least once every 90 days.
- High‑priority pages (e.g., Lear Capital review, Goldco vs. Augusta case study) are checked monthly for fee changes or policy updates.
- Glossary and evergreen guides are reviewed quarterly.
- The “last updated” date appears at the top of every major page. If a page has not changed, we still re‑verify key data points and update the review date to show active maintenance.
Why does this matter? Google favours fresh, regularly maintained content – especially for YMYL topics like retirement investing. Our update schedule ensures you are always reading current information.
Conflict of Interest Policy (COI) – Team Members
This is a core part of our integrity. Every member of the GetUserReviews research team must adhere to the following:
| Rule | Explanation |
|---|---|
| No personal investments in reviewed companies | Team members cannot own stocks, bonds, or any financial instruments issued by any gold IRA company, precious metals dealer, or custodian we review. |
| No trading based on upcoming reviews | Team members cannot buy or sell any asset that will be mentioned in an upcoming review for at least 30 days before publication. |
| Spouse/family disclosure | The same restrictions apply to immediate family members living in the same household. |
| Annual COI certification | Every team member signs a conflict of interest disclosure form each year. Copies are retained internally. |
What about gold ownership? Team members may personally own physical gold or other precious metals as a long‑term investment, but they must disclose that ownership. However, they cannot hold positions in specific gold IRA companies (e.g., stock in Goldco or Augusta – neither is publicly traded, but if they were, it would be prohibited).
If a team member develops a potential conflict (e.g., a family member begins working for a reviewed company), they must recuse themselves from all coverage of that company. The compliance lead (Arkabrata Majumdar) enforces this policy.
Editorial Independence & Advertising
We’re Not for Sale
Our ratings are set before any monetization conversation happens. Period.
- No paid placements: Companies cannot pay us to be reviewed, to receive a higher rating, or to be featured more prominently.
- No “pay‑to‑play” rankings: The order in which companies appear is based on our testing data, not on commercial agreements.
- No gift acceptance: We do not accept free products, trips, or compensation from the companies we review. Our testing budget is entirely self‑funded.
Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on GetUserReviews are affiliate links. That means if you click a link and open an account or make a purchase, we may receive a commission – at no additional cost to you.
However, our affiliate relationships have zero influence on our reviews. Here is what we guarantee:
- A company’s rating is determined before any affiliate link is inserted.
- If a company has a low rating, we still publish that low rating – and we still include the negative details – even if an affiliate relationship exists.
- We use rel=”nofollow sponsored” on all affiliate links so search engines and readers know exactly what is a paid link.
- Our editorial team does not participate in commission discussions. Commissions help fund our research experiments (like the 15,000LearCapitaltestandthe50,000 Goldco vs. Augusta case study), but they never dictate what we write.

Sourcing Standards
We hold ourselves to high sourcing standards. All claims in our reviews must be supported by at least one of the following:
| Source Type | Example |
|---|---|
| Primary data from our own hands‑on experiments | Account statements, call recordings, fee receipts |
| Company disclosures | Official fee schedules, custodial agreements, public pricing |
| Government or regulatory databases | SEC filings, CFTC data, state licensing boards, FINRA |
| Consumer complaint platforms | BBB, Trustpilot, ConsumerAffairs – with clear contextual analysis (e.g., “As of April 2026, Lear Capital has an A+ BBB rating but 23 complaints closed in last 3 years”) |
| Court records / legal settlements | Publicly available lawsuit documents (e.g., the $6M Lear Capital settlement) |
What we avoid:
- Anonymous “industry experts” without verifiable credentials
- Quotes from company executives presented as independent opinions
- Unsubstantiated rumours or forum posts
When we cite an external expert, we disclose any potential conflict of interest (e.g., if the expert is a paid consultant to a company in the same industry).
Compliance & Enforcement
This Editorial Policy is enforced by:
- Arkabrata Majumdar (Compliance Lead) – responsible for fact‑checking, COI monitoring, and corrections.
- Paresh Yelekar (Lead Researcher) – responsible for methodological integrity.
Violations (e.g., a team member accepting a gift from a reviewed company) will result in immediate suspension and public disclosure of the incident. To date, no violations have occurred.
If you have concerns about our compliance with this policy, please email ethics@getuserreviews.com. We will respond within 48 hours.
